Sotiris Tsoulos: Architecture students have lost their way

Sotiris Tsoulos, design director of architecture house RMJM, wants a return to classical design education to stop students from graduating university without basic design skills.

He says students have been trained by universities to become "perfect image-makers" and have lost the real essence behind designing functional spaces.

This trend, which he said came from the UK, has disrupted architecture education all around the world and needs immediate rectification.

Tsoulos will address the issue at the designMENA Summit 2019, which takes place on 4 December at Grosvenor House.

The designMENA Summit 2019 is kindly sponsored by Lacasa, Emkay Interiors, Huda Lighting, iGuzzini and Electra.

Attendance is free for interior designers and architects but spaces are limited and must be registered in advance. To register as a delegate click here or contact Evgenia Zhelyazkova on +971 4 444 3685 or jenny.z@itp.com.
