Pallavi Dean: Combat undercutting with 'new rules of play'

Pallavi Dean, founder and creative director of award-winning boutique interior design studio Roar, has called for the creation of “basic rules of play” to combat undercutting in the industry.

Dean, considered one of the most influential designers in the Middle East, is an advocate of the free market but has lamented undercutting.

She is calling for new rules of play to be established to mitigate the issue.

Dean was interviewed as part of a four-part Commercial Interior Design video series in conversation with senior architects and interior designers.

They formed part of the designMENA Summit advisory panel meeting, which was held earlier this year to set the conversation for Commercial Interior Design's summit on 4 December.

The designMENA Summit 2019 is kindly sponsored by Lacasa, Emkay Interiors, Huda Lighting and iGuzzini.

Attendance is free for interior designers and architects but spaces are limited and must be registered in advance. To register as a delegate click here or contact Evgenia Zhelyazkova on +971 4 444 3685 or jenny.z@itp.com.
