In collaboration with Italian furniture company Boffi, Zaha Hadid Design has released a new custom kitchen island called Boffi_Code, made entirely of white Corian.
A statement released by the firm announced that the “Boffi_Code offers customisation to the highest standards, tailoring individual solutions with selected materials, finishes and cabinetry.” The new kitchen solution also marries design with functionality, the statement adds, through carefully chosen materials and craftsmanship.
Though made of Corian, the island features an additional selection of finishes that complement its design, including hand-finished natural stone, wooden doors, matt lacquer Ecolak and polyester glossy lacquered stainless steel.
The curved design, which revisits Hadid’s repertoire of projects like Rome’s MAXXI Museum of Art and Baku’s cultural centre, features a sink and open space beneath, and is available in two sizes.
During this year’s Milan Design Week, Zaha Hadid Architects created an immersive installation for Samsung, which offers an interactive environment inspired by the brand’s S8 mobile phone model.
designMENA has also recently revealed progress details for Hadid’s The Opus tower in Dubai, including new interior renders.
