World’s tallest tower to be built in Pakistan
Abu Dhabi Group is to construct the world’s tallest building in Pakistan as part of a $45bn investment in the country with Pakistani property tycoon Malik Riaz Hussain, The Express Tribune reports.
Projects mooted include building a tower in Karachi to dwarf Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, currently the globe’s tallest building, and miniatures of the Seven Wonders of the World.
A sports city, educational city, media city, medical city and international city along the lines of those in the UAE will also be built, according to the report.
A deal was signed in Abu Dhabi between Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, chairman of Abu Dhabi Group, and Hussain, consultant of Bahria Town.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Sheikh Al Nahyan said: “I am genuinely happy that in this historic project of Pakistan we are working with the visionary Malik Riaz Hussain, this guarantees that not only the project will be delivered beyond our expectations but also before time. We will Inshallah be welcoming first residents in next three to four years.”
There has yet been no images nor concept revealed for the new tower.
