Architect firm SSH has been appointed as contract manager and site supervision consultant by Bahrain’s Ministry of Housing for infrastructure and bridge construction on a project to build a new town on reclaimed land.
Islands 13 and 14 (East) which form part of the Al Madina Al Shamaliya Islands (AMAS) is the location for the development which will deliver 2,000 affordable homes.
The infrastructure required includes 5.5 km of roads installation of utilities such as storm water, potable water, electrical, irrigation and telecommunications networks, along with the construction of vehicular and pedestrian bridges to connect the two islands.
Mark Jamieson, SSH infrastructure director said: “We are excited to work with the Ministry of Housing again on this project. Al Madina Al Shamaliya is a very large project in the Kingdom, and will create an autonomous living space for thousands of people, we are glad we’re able to serve them with good, quality and sustainable infrastructure that is quality-assured.”
