Reinforcing the traditional symbols from the Islamic culture, the Quran stand is the first of many products to come under The Alef Collection, launched by Saudi designer Ayah Al Bitar.
Conceptualised by her sister Haya and created by Ayah, the vision for this line is to showcase the heritage and traditions of Ramadan in a contemporary and educational manner.
“I am delighted to be working with my sister on her incredible concept of bringing together interactions and fun behavior for a very topical moment in our lives,” says Bitar. “The philosophy behind The Alef Collection enhancing Arabian identity, is perfectly aligned with my core beliefs as a brand, it was a perfect collaboration. I truly believe in developing more inspirational products that not only represent our traditions in a modern way but also create a solution to facilitate the life of Muslims and beyond in their daily routines. This is a very exciting project with many more products to come.”
The stand itself has been designed from wood and plaited fabric cord, all inspired by the new branding and font related to AYA The Art of Living. This product has been produced to provide comfort when holding by hand and more convenience when placed on a flat surface. Ensuring full practicality for this new product, there is a hidden shelf that can be used to place glasses or phones in order to fully facilitate any pre-prayer processes.
Last year Bitar unveiled her collection entitled The Sanctuary, a storage solution for prayer in Islam.
