The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat has announced Christian Vasquez , architect and business development executive at NEB, as the Dubai regional representative, starting July 1.
The council is an international body that serves the field of tall buildings and sustainable urban design. The world’s leading resource for professionals focused on the inception, design, construction and operation of tall buildings and future cities, CTBUH welcomes Vasquez to its growing team, which includes reps from the Philippines, France, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Germany and India.
“Dubai is expecting to complete 52 more tall buildings in the coming years,” said Vasquez, “including the Calatrava-designed The Tower at Dubai Creek Harbour, which, when completed, will be 100m taller than the Burj Khalifa.
The CTBUH has also developed the international standards for measuring tall building height and is recognised as the arbiter for designations like, ‘The World’s Tallest Building’.
“There is no doubt that Dubai is the best strategic location for CTBUH Middle East Head Quarters,” Vasquez added. “And during my two-year tenure as the CTBUH Regional Representative, we will make sure to lay the ground work for a strong leadership structure.”
