With the Middle East Architect Awards coming up on 22 November, to be held at the Ritz Carlton in JBR, Dubai, category sponsor Deltek’s Fergus Gilmore speaks on the event as an industry benchmark.
Why did you choose to sponsor this year’s awards?
Deltek has extensive experience partnering with the architecture and engineering industry worldwide. As a provider of business software specific to A&E firms needs, we help them be more efficient, deliver more profitable projects and grow their businesses. With clients including SSH Design, we are thrilled to celebrate successful firms and the high achievers at this year’s awards.
What do you think people will gain from attending the event?
The awards will be a great place to network with colleagues and discuss ongoing and upcoming projects, the current state of the industry and honour achievements. There is no better place to get insight into the industry and exchange opinions.
What are your hopes for this year’s projects?
It has been a really challenging year for firms. There are still a lot of projects being initiated, but margins are tighter and there are undoubtedly cash flow issues. With the introduction of VAT and ISO compliance, it’s our opinion that by implementing industry specific technologies, like Enterprise Resource Planning software (ERP), not only can firms handle the new regulatory requirements, but they can also improve cash flow through automation and receive accurate real-time information on how their projects are performing.
