Maraya Art Centre and the Goethe-Institut Gulf Region are organising a free to attend public talk ‘Do You Trust Me’ which deals with the question of credibility and rendition of reality in photography both in journalism as well as in art. The workshop and the exhibition will take place on Saturday, April 9, from 9am to 2:30pm at Maraya Arte Centre in Sharjah.
The public talk is part of the photography programme ‘Do You Trust Me’ to research the power of photographs as a means to illustrate facts, to tell stories and to manipulate viewers by editing original photo shots to achieve specific effects.
Photographers and professionals of the largest media in Germany speak about their experience and views on photography and ethics, photography as a border between journalism and art, as a medium of communication and of the conflicts and the expert’s dilemma in choosing the appropriate photography for an article.
