Dubai and London-based interior design consultancy LXA has been appointed to create two F&B concepts at the Wyndham Dubai Marina, a collaboration with hospitality property company, The First Group.
The first concept, Smokehouse draws inspiration from the craft of the Blacksmith, featuring a palette of charcoal tones which are complimented with warm walnut wood and leather. For an artisinal ambiance, the walls will showcase multi-layered textures and reliefs.
The second concept, also designed by LXA, is the Coffee Lounge which joins the lobby and business centre functions, encouraging guests and visitors to interact in what is often an under-utilized traditional hotel area.
“This space is part of a movement to create social hubs across the city and the refurbishments will upgrade all venues and further activate the hotel in the Marina area,” a release by the designers stated.
Sarah-Jane Grant, Director at LXA comments, “Since the hotel has recently opened, our schemes needed to be impactful yet still complement the existing design. We were also required to work within a fully operating hotel thus timing and phasing of the work was key.
“This project specifically looked at ways where we can utilise the outdoor space by increasing covers but also giving the customer alternative ways to experience a more casual breakfast offer and services through the coffee shop.”
Both spaces are set to open their doors in October 2017.
LXA has been shortlisted in the Boutique Design Firm category for the 2017 Commercial Interior Design Awards. View full shortlist here.
