Lebanese design students compete for $3000 prize

Lebanon-based real estate firm Plus Properties has launched a competition for interior design and landscaping students to create a Duplex apartment or a garden zone in the Tilal Bhersaf gated community.

The registration deadline is on June 15, 2012, with design submission deadline on July 30.

The competition offers a cash prize of $3,000 for each category: interior design and landscaping.

Lebanese citizens who are undergraduate students at the following universities are eligible to enter: American University of Beirut, Balamand University (ALBA), Lebanese American University, Notre Dame University, Université Saint Esprit – Kaslik, and, Université Libanaise.

Judges include: Elias Gebrayel, architect, ERGA group; Dori Hitti, designer and architect, Cercle Hitti; Etienne Debbaneh, chairman and CEO, Exotica. In addition, one representative from each participating university will be on the panel, along with members of Plus Properties.

Tilal Bhersaf is located in Metn, at an altitude of 900m, and is 25km away from Beirut. The residential community, composed of 15 low-rise buildings, spans an area of 21,000 square metres; 4,500 square metres is dedicated to the buildable space, whereas the remaining is composed of inner roads and lush landscapes.
