Five architecture practices, including Aecom and BDP, have been shortlisted for a US$6.4billion riverside project in Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur.
The scheme, named River of Life, involves the transformation of 10km of waterfront along the polluted Klang and Gombak rivers, as well as the redevelopment of 11 precincts.
The five finalists were chosen from an invited longlist of 22 local and international practices. The shortlisted firms are BDP, Aecom, Korea Engineering Consultants Corporation and local firms AJC Planning Consultants and TR Hamzah & Yeang.
The schemes are now on public display and the prime minister of Malaysia will announce the winner at the end of the month, following deliberations by a panel of judges.
