Ivanka Trump designs for Dubai

The daughter of US billionaire Donald Trump has designed interiors for 100 luxury mansions to be built at the Akoya by DAMAC development in Dubai.

They will be on Trump Estate which forms part of a golf themed project which will see a championship standard course as its centrepiece

“[The design] is different from what we usually do in the market,” DAMAC Properties managing director Ziad El Chaar said.

“You’re going to see villas which are much more open; they have much more glass facade.”

El Chaar said Ivanka Trump – who is a designer of both interiors and fashion – chose materials that are rarely used in Dubai, including wood rather than marble and porcelain.

The Trump Estates are due to be completed in March 2015 and will be one of the first completed divisions of the Akoya master development, located off Umm Suqeim Road.

The development also includes a boutique hotel and international schools, as well as retail brands, leisure and entertainment offerings and a sports complex.
