iGuzzini and Zubair Electric hold successful event

iGuzzini and Zubair Electric have revealed that ‘The Evening of Light Entertainment’, held on October 16 at the Bandar Hotel Ballroom, at the Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort, in Muscat was a great success.

Organised in collaboration with Light Touch PLD, it was an event dedicated to light and to the promotion of the good quality lighting.

A diverse audience comprising over 70 designers, architects, engineers and local and regional professionals were engaged by international and regional speakers who addressed some of the key topics related to the lighting sector.

The aim of this initiative was to encourage the establishment of a cultural platform to share views and expertise while discussing the latest innovations which are dramatically reshaping the lighting landscape.

Seminars were given by Ammar Habib Mohamed, Nathan Savage and Sergio Padula who opened up the debate introducing some of the most crucial issues related to the sector, providing the audience with numerous inputs and ideas for the nurturing of the debate.

Habib Mohamed’s presentation questioned the need of a lighting designer in today’s lighting scenario. With over 10 years of experience, he has been trained as an architectural/building services engineer and has a Master Degree in Lighting Design. He is currently working as the senior lighting engineer at the royal estates – royal court affairs in Muscat.

Savage is a lighting designer and partner at Light Touch PLD. Seven years’ experience of living and working in the Middle East has provided a diverse background of working practices and culture. His discourse explored what to expect from a lighting designer, offering a complementary perspective to the topic highlighted by Habib Mohamed.

Sergio Padula is technical manager and lighting expert at iGuzzini Middle East. His seminar focussed on the ‘Sustainable Strategies in Architectural Lighting and Design’ where he then analysed the extent to which both architecture and design are being affected by the technological revolution critically reshaping the lighting sector.
