German luxury bathroom and kitchen fittings specialist Hansgrohe Group, recently announced the appointment of its new managing director for the Middle East – Markus Singler. With nearly 10 years of experience in the company, Singler has relocated from the Group’s South Africa office.
“The Middle East region is an important market for both brands, AXOR and Hansgrohe. When it comes to high profile luxury projects, the UAE is the engine of the region. We also see more and more countries in the region investing in new landmark projects. Besides winning landmark projects, we are continuing to increase our retail network to bring AXOR, our luxury brand, and Hansgrohe, our premium brand, to the end consumer,” explains Singler.
Commenting the market in the region, Singler says that the Middle East has growth opportunities, but compared to Europe is still lacking a distribution structure.
“In Europe, we have different channels of distribution: besides the project business, the wholesale business and the DIY business, eCommerce is getting more popular. This is something that is not yet that far established in this region,” he says. “Whereas we follow strongly regional approaches in terms of distribution structures, we have one thing in common across the globe: With AXOR and Hansgrohe, we want to be where our direct customers, but also the end consumers of our products are looking for showers, bathroom and kitchen taps. A big and exciting task for the Middle Eastern region.”
The company recently launched two large showrooms in Abu Dhabi (UAE) and Amman (Jordan) and supplied its products for the Nikki Beach resort, Bulgari hotel, and Sky View Towers in Dubai.
