FXFOWLE’s Saudi mosque picks up award

New York-based firm FXFOWLE won an architecture award for its under-construction mosque in the King Abdulla Financial District (KAFD), Saudi Arabia.

The mosque was lauded at the International Architecture Awards programme for 2011 by the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.

The programme honoured 90 examples of building projects, urban plans, and landscape architecture from around the world.

Judging for the awards took place in Warsaw, Poland, under the auspices of The Association of Polish Architects.
