Dubai images to be displayed on Burj Al Arab

The Burj Al Arab hotel is to beam images taken as part of an online photographic project across Dubai onto its sail-like main structure.

A picture taken as part of #MyDubai will be on show on the last Thursday of every month.

Initiated by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, #MyDubai project invites residents and visitors to join in and create “the world’s first autobiography of a city”.

By submitting images and videos and using the hashtag #MyDubai, the participants contribute to demonstrating the identity and culture of the city.

Heinrich Morio, Burj Al Arab’s general manager, said: “We are pleased to join the #MyDubai initiative and increase the awareness of this community engagement platform by exhibiting a selection of the images contributed so far on Burj Al Arab’s sail.”

#MyDubai was launched on 5 January 2014 at Burj Al Arab. On @MyDubai, there have been almost 250,000 posts while the number of Twitter mentions reached nearly 50,000.
