Colombo-designed villas on Dubai’s Sweden Island ready by end-2016

Villas on Sweden Island, a component of the Heart of Europe development which makes up part of Dubai’s The World Islands project, will be completed by the end of 2016, it has been announced.

Excavation has commenced on Sweden Island and concrete work is about to begin, its developer said in a statement.

The statement added that the first villa will be fitted out and furnished during the first quarter of 2016 with the remaining nine Sweden Villas, costing $15 million, completed by December 31 2016 in time for a Swedish themed New Year’s Eve party on the island.

Designed by famous architect Carlo Colombo, the design of each seven bedroom residence is inspired by the structure of inverted Swedish Viking vessels.

Special features include snow and sauna rooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, a gym and spa, a private infinity pool and landscaped gardens.

The Heart of Europe, a cluster of six European themed islands on The World, 4km off the coast of Dubai, has teamed up with Bentley Home for its Sweden Island villa project to furnish the luxury beachfront residences.

Sweden Island in Dubai will encompass traditional designs based on Stockholm’s famous Saluhall Market and will serve the finest Swedish and European cuisine.

During the year, Sweden Island will also host authentic themed events and celebrations such as Midsumer, National Day, St Martin’s Day, Walpurgis Eve, Saint Lucia and crayfish parties.

The island will also celebrate the best of Swedish film, music and arts during cultural events when guests will be able to enjoy traditional Swedish delicacies such as sour herring, meatballs, Raggmunk, toast Skagen, smorgasbord, crayfish and authentic beverages.

This is the first luxury real estate project in Dubai to be furnished by Bentley Home and The Heart of Europe said it is “thrilled to be bringing such a prestigious and iconic European brand to the UAE”.

The Heart of Europe is made up of Sweden, Germany, Monaco, Main Europe, Switzerland and St Petersburg Island.
