Boutique interior design and décor firm, C’est ici, founded by designers Tatiana Jaramillo and Monica Durou has just started to expand into the commercial interior space. They believe that there are great opportunities and demand for the firm’s services within this sector. “We believe that the spaces at work should be given the same amount of importance as to a residential home,” say the designers. “An office is a place which is often referred as a second home. It’s the place where you fight for market share, pursue new business opportunities and dreams. Design and styling commercial spaces requires more of a business approach and therefore, we are mainly focused on the business needs of each company that we work with.”
Describing one of their recent projects which involved styling and decorating the furniture store for Home & Soul, the designers share that the main objective was to re-merchandise the existing brands to fit into one side of the store and make them look more premium, including practical, flexible display options which maximise the number of products on display that can be displayed and sold.
“Another commercial project which we’ve recently completed in Dubai, involved the complete makeover of a workplace interior. One of our main objectives was boosting the employee morale and motivation. In our proposal, we included a ping pong table in the kitchen, which could also be as a kitchen table, maximising both space and function,” say the designers.
