Accor, Downtown Doha, MGallery, Msheireb Hospitality

Accor and Msheireb Hospitality will develop and manage an MGallery hotel in Doha.

The MGallery will be a boutique hotel that will offer a modern interpretation of Qatari heritage and hospitality, within Msheireb Downtown Doha, and will be located opposite the traditional Souq Waqif, and close to the airport and Doha’s business districts.

The hotel is on the design phase and its opening is scheduled in 2015.

It will feature 215 rooms, meeting facilities, a spa and an outdoor pool. The property will offer original cafes and restaurant concepts as well as terraces overlooking views of the Mshereib district and the Souq Waqif.

Abdul Aziz Al Emadi, CEO of Msheireb Hospitality said: “Developing a modern hotel that reflects the Qatari culture and heritage fits very well with our strategy to introduce innovative and integrated hospitality products that will enrich the hospitality sector in Doha and contribute to the broader vision of the country, supporting the tourism industry to promote Qatar as an international tourist destination.”

He added: “Accor also shares our passion in creating a new hub in this part of the city, which integrates the best elements of Doha’s historical heritage with innovative facilities.”

Jean-Jacques Dessors, Accor’s COO for Africa, Middle East, Indian Ocean and Caribbean Islands, said: “The very fast development of world-class infrastructure has positioned Doha as an international hub, attracting not only business travellers but also more and more leisure guests. Based on Qatar’s extremely high potential for hospitality and tourism, Doha appears as a priority market for the development of the Accor hotels network in the Middle East.”

Christophe Landais, Accor’s Middle East managing director,  said Accor was delighted to support the long-term vision of Msheireb Hospitality by introducing the MGallery label in the country.

The MGallery St. Ermin hotel in London is the most recent addition to its portfolio which brings the network to 48 hotels in Europe, Asia Pacific, Australia, Africa and Middle East.
