Bluehaus Group has completed the concept design, development and MEP of United Designers retail fashion store at Mirdiff Mall, Dubai.
The outlet is the brainchild of entrepreneur, Yahya Stapic, who won The Big Start student competition, an initiative of venture capitalist Al Tamimi Investments (ATI).
“The brief for this project was unique in the sense that it had been developed as part of a competition, so it was clear from the start it was a vision developed from a passion,” said Ben Corrigan, group director, Bluehaus Group.
“Stapic’s concept retail store will have between 40-45 new designers, each with their own branded retail space, as well as act as an incubator platform for upcoming creative talent in the region.”
The concept is to provide a platform for local designers in the UAE to establish themselves, and showcase their products within their dedicated space.
The overall design is contemporary and dynamic to reflect the concept and experience of what a designer’s merchandise is about.
“The concept for the store was unique and needed to accommodate a lot of individual designers as opposed to one brand but still appear ‘United’. The client was clear from the start that they wanted the store to create a sense of luxury and be able to stand next to the already well established fashion brands,” added Corrigan.
Lead designer Jason Roberts created a simple and plain backdrop so the merchandise would stand out and speak for itself, yet still create a boutique feel.
