Arc International appoints Middle East CEO

Tableware manufacturer, Arc International, has opened a fourth furnace at its factory in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), UAE and appointed Khaled Arafa as its CEO Middle East.

AIME (Arc International Middle East), moved to the region in 2004 and has seen, on average, double digit growth with development in the dinnerware, drinkware, hot drinks, kitchenware and decoration sectors.
The commissioning of a new furnace doubles the production capacity of the factory.

Extra sales made possible by this investment are expected to be in the order of $80m next year.

“The increase in the production capacity of the Ras Al Khaimah site reinforces our regionalisation strategy. We must have a local presence in growth regions to adapt our products to consumer usages and needs, whilst limiting transport costs,” said Guillaume de Fougières, chairman, Arc International.

“Today, the group has five production sites which all satisfy the same requirements for quality and competitiveness, to ensure the Group’s sustainability.”

The factory mainly manufactures items for the Luminarc and Arcoroc brands, as well as for the RAK Glass brand, which is distributed in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Arc has appointed Khaled Arafa as CEO Middle East and he will report to Bart Muller, CEO International division and succeeds François Bonneville who has been recently appointed CEO Russia, CIS and Eastern countries.

Arafa will be responsible for growing the region in its three channels (consumer goods, food service and B2B).
