Intrepid explorer, Jerome Dhulst, founder of Antika Dubai, will host an exclusive sale of his one-off authentic, affordable, furniture items from India.
The sale will be held at a private showroom in Jumeira 1, Al Wasl Park, Street 2c, villa 82, from 9am-6pm on Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2.
“All our furniture is directly imported from India, mostly from the Rajasthani and Gujarati regions,” said Dhulst.
“90% are unique antique pieces collected from individuals or collectively. It has been systematically brought back to our workshop in Jodhpur for eventual fixing and repairing, checking and quality control.
“All the items are treated and fumigated. As they are old pieces, they are sold as they are, in their authentic condition. Each piece is unique with naturally occurring cracks, splits and knots.”
The Frenchman has spent the past three years scouring northern India for items to sell in the GCC.
He joined the antique furniture business in 2008 and set up Antika Dubai in 2010 where he showcases his wares twice a year.
The next antique collection, including items sourced from Kashmir and Ladak, should arrive mid/end August and will be on display in Hayya Town Center, Springs Meadows area, starting in September.
