Abu Dhabi’s executive council has approved spending on a range of development projects, which offers architects and interior designers an opportunity to shine.

According to the reports, schemes have been confirmed for more than 20,000 new homes, a £4.4 billion airport terminal, a metro system, two industrial zones, 14 new hospitals and 24 new schools.

“Within the region there is so much scope to lead the ideas and thinking of how we live, work, travel and are cared for in the 21st century.  This is good news and an opportunity to showcase excellence,” said Andrew Jackson at SAS International.

With an office in Abu Dhabi, the company believes it is well placed to see how such developments are shaping the growth of the emirate.

The transport sector is a particular area of interest to the firm as it has supplied to airports and metro/train stations around the globe, including New Doha International Airport (NDIA), Chek Lap Kok Airport and London Waterloo Station.
