The inaugural edition of Design Days Dubai, the Middle East’s and South Asia’s first fair dedicated to collectible and limited edition design, will showcase design pieces by 22 international and regional design galleries.

The galleries, drawn from around the world, will present for the first time in Dubai a collection ranging from prototype work to 20th Century classics, with the collectibles varying in price between EURO€500 to EURO€300,000.

Each of the galleries, such as Coletivo Amor de Madre from Brazil and Croft from Seoul, South Korea, are participating outside of their home-country for the first time and will present their collections at dedicated pavilions that highlight a new dimension to design aesthetics.

“Design Days Dubai aims to set the basis for a new design culture in the region by providing a platform for designers here to understand the shifting trends in high-end design,” said Cyril Zammit, fair director, Design Days Dubai.

“The fair also offers the opportunity for the participating galleries to bond with local manufacturers, and potentially reach out to the growing audience for high-end design pieces.”

The fair will mark the premiere of La Galerie Nationale, a ‘real’ design gallery that specialises in modern design, and a Dominic Harris piece showcased by Priveekollektie.

Other  design artists including Jedd Novatt, Guy de Rougemont (Galerie Diane de Polignac, Paris); Joseph Walsh (Nilufar, Milan); Frederik Molenschot (Carpenters Workshop Gallery, London/Paris); Christian Astuguvieille (Franziska Kessler, Zurich); Hans Kotter (Priveekollektie, Heusden); Charles Kalpakian (Galerie BSL, Paris) and Vito Selma (Nakkash Gallery, Dubai).

The event is held from March 18- 21 at a specially designed venue by the base of Burj Khalifa in Downtown Dubai and is organised in partnership with Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), The Address Hotels + Resorts, and design patrons Audi and Van Cleef & Arpels.

It also coincides with the contemporary art fair Art Dubai, and is an integral part of Art Week.
