After earning international acclaim for his furniture and home product series, Steve Leung, world-renowned architect and interior designer, has launched his first vanity collection – Inkstone, in collaboration with Italian sanitary ware brand Neutra.

The Inkstone collection has been showcased for the first time at the 2012 Milan Furniture Fair (Salone Internazionale del Mobile).

“Modern people’s requirements on life are different from the past. Apart from functionality, modern people also put emphasis on aesthetics and personal experience,” said Leung.

“Considering I am a Chinese designer, I particularly wanted to add in Chinese elements when I designed this vanity collection. In fact, integration of Chinese and western elements always stimulates creativity, and at the same time combining the aesthetics of calligraphy with wisdom of wellness philosophies in this collection.”

Inspired by precious Chinese ink stones, the collection pays homage to the material by adapting the ink stone’s colour, shape and texture.

Leung has been credited with over 80 design and corporate awards in the Asia Pacific region and worldwide.

He is known for his contemporary design style and for adding Asian culture and art elements to architecture, interior design and product design.

In 2001, he branched out into furniture and product design, creating collections such as “i-chi”, “cube”, “ling-long”,“tenchi”, “i-chi II” and “LUXE”.
