Pernod Ricard, one of the world’s leading premium spirits companies, recently opened their new Gulf offices in Dubai’s ICD Brookfield Place, designed by SAY Studio.
The design embodies the brand’s ethos of conviviality or creating moments of warmth and connection. The design team aimed to foster a work environment that supports the company’s convivial culture and inspires visitors and staff.
One of the key goals of the project was to promote interactions and create meaningful human connections throughout the space. The design achieved this by incorporating various open, collaborative zones. The space adapts to different ways of working with a blend of quiet, focus places and collaborative areas that balance the needs for connection and separation. The new office improves opportunities to build deeper, meaningful relationships with customers and between employees.
The front-of-house café lounge welcomes visitors and staff, inviting them to engage with the brand and each other to share simple, genuine, direct and authentic moments. The café lounge serves as a central social space with custom ceiling joinery, blattchaya tiles, and lounge seating. The design incorporates biophilic principles, flexible furniture configurations, and panoramic views that create an adaptable, healthy workplace.
The new office space incorporates visual elements from Pernod Ricard’s most iconic brands into its meeting spaces. Each meeting room’s colours, lighting, furniture, and accessories are integrated and curated to fit a particular brand’s unique identity and cater to the needs of its occupants. The meeting rooms embody the spirit of each brand, with each room’s material and colour palette informed by visual elements from Pernod Ricard’s portfolio of premium products.
SAY Studio designed the open plan areas with semi-partitioned desks in a comfortable space, inclusive of natural light and equipped with high-performance acoustics. The meeting rooms are positioned around the core to ensure that the social hubs and working areas receive maximum natural light.
The new workplace space reflects Pernod Ricard’s business and raison d’etre. The design translates the concept of conviviality into physical space, creating a warm and welcoming space for their people and clients to gather. Pernod Ricard believes that “we’re all enriched by the differences we find in others,” and the design of their new space allows for simple, genuine, direct, and authentic shared moments that can help find those differences and the common ground between them.
Michelle Eid, Senior Designer at SAY Studio, stated that “One of the key benefits of the workplace is its ability to allow for spontaneous meetings and random, in-person discussions. Our goal for the space was to create these serendipitous encounters through planning, functionality, aesthetics, and materiality. By doing so, Pernod Ricard’s Gulf Offices is a hub of people, ideas, and connections.”
Laila Al-Yousuf, design director of SAY Studio, added that “Flexible furniture configurations, biophilic design principles, and panoramic views create an adaptable, healthy workplace. These considerations were made to ensure that Pernod Ricard’s new office supports their people in all ways.”

The design promotes interactions and creates meaningful human connections throughout the space, with various open, collaborative zones, and a front-of-house café lounge that serves as a central social space.
