Lunatic Fringe is a luxury hair and beauty salon set to open in Le Meridien Beach Resort & Spa, Dubai, founded by Liza Harper and designed by LW Design. Harper’s vision was to create a private members’ club that provides luxury pampering services and an escape from the stresses of the outside world. The salon’s design elements include premium materials such as Italian bespoke flooring and pedicure tubs made out of pink onyx marble. The interior design and colour scheme are carefully considered and create a stylish, contemporary, comfortable, and welcoming space for customers to relax and unwind.
“Lunatic Fringe is more than just a hair and beauty salon; it is a place designed with the customer experience in mind,” says Harper. The salon’s unique design and layout were carefully planned to ensure that every aspect of the customer’s visit is enjoyable, from the moment they enter to the moment they leave. While designing the salon, there were a couple of challenges for studio LW Design to consider, including unexpected service and structural challenges as the salon was located in an older building. The bar counter had to be adapted to fit within the space, and lighting was a crucial consideration as it was important to reflect the natural shade of hair colouring. “Despite these challenges, Lunatic Fringe is a beautiful and functional space designed with the customer experience in mind,” says Harper.
The salon incorporates the latest technology to enhance the customer experience. An integrated sound system for three different areas ensures guests can enjoy their favourite tunes while receiving their treatments. In addition, a massive display screen at the corridor showcases the salon’s offerings, making it easier for guests to choose their desired services.
Harper collaborated with LW Design on this project. LW Designs’ expertise in designing F&B outlets and hospitality areas ensured that they quickly grasped the vision, theme, and essence of the salon. The team’s dedication and tireless efforts were instrumental in bringing Harper’s dream to reality, ensuring that every detail was planned and executed with utmost precision and care.
