More than six years in the making, the sparkling glass doors to The Lana Residences by OMNIYAT have officially opened, and its first residents have moved in. It’s the latest in a long list of branded residences to pop up along the Dubai skyline, along the waters of Dubai Canal on Marasi Drive.
Managed exclusively by Dorchester Collection and neighbouring the new ultra-luxe hotel by the same name, the property includes 33 luxury residences and six penthouses. An outdoor swimming pool overlooks the iconic Downtown Dubai skyline, and other amenities include a yoga studio, a fully equipped gym as well as a resident’s lounge and conference centre facilities.
It’s just the beginning of a district-defining partnership for luxury real estate developer OMNIYAT, founded by Mahdi Amjad in 2005. Amjad’s penchant for art and design has driven the company and its developments to set new standards in quality and luxury, having collaborated with world-renowned design partners such as Foster + Partners and French design studio Gilles & Boissier on The Lana Residences.
“Along with partnering with some of the most visionary minds within the interior design and architecture sphere, we always work to provide those seeking a more elevated lifestyle with offerings that exceed their expectations,” says Amjad. “The Lana is a prime example of this philosophy in action.
Strategically located near vibrant urban hubs like Downtown Dubai, it offers its residents not just a prestigious address but also convenient access to iconic landmarks and the city’s dynamic lifestyle.” The Lana further distinguishes itself with its waterfront promenade, offering the residents the exclusive convenience of docking their own boats right at their doorstep.
The interior design of the residences themselves masterfully conveys the level of traditional, sophisticated luxury associated with the Dorchester Collection, but with enough of a modern edge to suit the fast-paced way of life in Dubai. “It is a young city that is full of life and opportunity to shape your life as you see fit, and The Lana is an extension of this,” says Amjad.
Designed by Gilles & Boissier, it’s the first Dorchester Collection to really ‘break the mould’ beyond the more conservative designs of outposts in Paris and London. “The approach we have taken with The Lana is to curate lifestyles by bringing together globally renowned leaders within their disciplines to create these experiences, blending contemporary design and luxurious amenities,” says Amjad.
“The residences epitomize modern elegance with a striking structure, light-flooded spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows, and sophisticated decor.” Swathes of Volakas and Calacatta Oro marble can be found throughout the interiors, with matt walnut and smoked oak timber flooring. The bathrooms are flooded with natural light and sweeping skyline views that can be taken in from the oversized freestanding bathtubs.
