Are you sitting comfortably?
Interior design and architecture studio AB Concept debuts its first collaboration with Italian brand Poltrona Frau.
The end result is Viola; a timeless classic of a chair that is lightweight yet hard-wearing.
Design highlights include a supporting sculptural form constructed from fine Frassino Moka wood that promises to be comfortable, even when sitting over long periods. We feel seen.
Inspired by its namesake instrument, the Viola features 60 Pelle Frau leather strings, which are hand-stitched into the chair’s wooden structure, providing support and enhancing the overall comfort.
The seat cushions are filled with down and are fully removable with covers that can be upholstered in a choice of Poltrona Frau fabric or leather, so the chair integrates into any interior design scheme.
Ed Ng, co-founder of AB Concept, says: “We are thrilled to work with such a prestigious manufacturer to produce Viola and were excited to have access to Poltrona Frau’s vast materials library and skilled craftspeople.
"With Viola, we celebrate the simplicity of the frame and draw attention to its quality engineering. We have achieved volume whilst retaining a relatively slim profile through the integration of the leather strings.”
