ISG has completed the fit-out of the Abu Dhabi Youth Hub, which it called the largest centre of its kind in the UAE.
The business delivered a tailored fit-out package inspired by the design of a building originally built for a Formula One club in 2009, but left vacant for a decade.
ISG worked closely with the client to carry out interior design alterations to improve the construction, quality and safety of the building.
Abu Dhabi Youth Hub covers 4,500m² and was recently inaugurated by two of the UAE’s leaders: HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.
Scott McCulloch, general manager of ISG in the Middle East, praised the Abu Dhabi Youth Hub’s design, as well as speed at which the team worked to ensure it could be inaugurated by the two UAE leaders.
“This is a unique project for ISG due to the striking design of the building and the requirement to incorporate bespoke design elements, many of which needed to be created on site,” he said.
“The success of the project has been down to strong collaboration with our client’s representatives, who were highly supportive and understanding of the design process and construction challenges.”
“Surveying and updating the existing building services to comply with all current standards not only demonstrates the sustainable credentials of the project, but also aided the ambitious delivery programme. Working seamlessly and directly with the Federal Youth Authority has been central to expediting decision making on some of the key elements of this project, therefore allowing us to complete in time for the VIP inauguration.”
