With 192 country pavilions at Expo 2020 Dubai confirmed, Commercial Interior Design is looking at the theme and design of every single one.
Ellisdon Construction will design and build the Canada Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai in conjunction with a consortium comprising Cisco, Moriyama & Teshima Architects, Lord Cultural Resources, Hatch, Kubik, Thornton Tomasetti and NGX.
It will feature a wooden structure referencing Canada’s landscapes with traditional Arabic architectural elements, symbolising the cultural – and growing economic – ties between free trade-loving Canada and the UAE.
Located in the Sustainability District, the pavilion will take visitors on an experiential journey through Canada’s past to its future in a world threated by climate change, warming temperatures and world-changing innovations.
Canadian Minister of International Trade Diversification, Hon Jim Carr, has said he hopes the pavilion will pave the way for Canadian business deals that create well-paid jobs for middle-class Canadians.
Further details about the interior design elements of the Canadian Pavilion have not been revealed.
