In keeping with the city's reputation for record-breaking fountains, Expo 2020 Dubai is getting its own special water feature, according to Ahmed Al Khatib, chief development and delivery officer at the expo.
The “unique water feature” is under construction and will be unveiled next year before the doors to Expo 2020 Dubai open in October.
The special project is a closely-guarded secret and nothing more about the feature has been revealed.
“We have also one plot that will have a very unique water feature that is also under construction right now,” Al Khatib told Commercial Interior Design’s sister title, Arabian Business.
It is nearly one year to go until Expo 2020 Dubai kicks off and construction activity is in full swing. Site works for the megaproject are reportedly under budget and the delivery team has since confirmed that plans are on track for the event.
The former will have one of the largest pavilions across the more than 4km² site and will demonstrate the future of trade, with augmented and virtual reality.
ENOC’s pavilion is designed to resemble a series of futuristic oil storage tankers and it will feature a curated exhibition taking visitors through a journey addressing the challenges and opportunities posed by the hunt for sustainable energy.
