Rooftop lounge St. Trop in Dubai’s Waldorf Astoria DIFC that LW Design worked on has opened its doors to the public.
Unlike the interiors of the 1960s-style luxury hotel, St. Trop draws its inspiration from the coastal town of Saint-Tropez in the French Riviera.
Rich timber decking evokes the natural woods found on the luxury superyachts sailing in the French waters.
This is complemented by a natural colour palette with a splash of aquamarine textiles that match the colour of the raised swimming pool and whirlpool.
Blue and white suspended pendant lamps hang from wooden beams above the bar that features a jet black countertop.
The rooftop lounges aims to bring a slice of the Mediterranean’s waterfront lifestyle to the design-loving population that frequents Dubai International Financial Centre.
Smallwood, which recently changed its name from Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart International or SRSS for short, designed the public areas, hotel rooms and suites of Waldorf Astoria DIFC, which opened earlier this year.
Alec Fitout, the subsidiary of UAE building giant Alec, carried out the fit-out of the project.
