Design Worldwide Partnership (dwp) expects to complete a number of hotels in the Middle East next year, with Expo 2020 Dubai edging closer.
The hospitality-focused design practice, which has offices in Dubai and Bangkok among other cities, is hard at work on several hotel designs in the Middle East that will be concluded next year.
Dubai-based Justin Wells, dwp’s global head of hospitality, says the company has 10 hotels at various stages of development.
“In the Middle East region we currently have five hotels under construction and five hotels in design or documentation stage, and 2020 is a year for several hotel completions for dwp,” he told Commercial Interior Design.
“As the region becomes a more diversified market in hospitality, we are seeing greater enquiry from emerging markets and wider reaching regional centres. I believe this trend will continue for a few years to come.”
After wrapping up work on the W Dubai – The Palm in 2018, dwp has continued to complete hospitality-focused projects in the Middle East.
Earlier this year, UAE real estate firm Deyaar Development confirmed that its four-star Millennium Al Barsha Hotel would open its doors in August 2019. The mixed-use hotel and apartment complex has seven floors and was designed by dwp.
