Two iron-clad animal sculptures reminiscent of Wall Street's iconic Charging Bull are the stand-out feature of Waldorf Astoria DIFC’s new restaurant Bull & Bear.
The sophisticated New York-style interior design that maximises hues of blue, gold and black was led by LW Design Group, which also worked on the hotel's other restaurant St Trop.
Guests are greeted on the 18th floor by the hand-forged bull and bear statues made with layers of liquid metal and tramazite upon arrival at Walforf Astoria DIFC's top dining spot.
Statement sculptures aside, Bull & Bear is serving up an interior aesthetic equal to its stylish menu that includes locally-caught tiger prawns and a hazelnut chocolate fondant.
LW uses a rich colour palette alongside rich metal, timber flooring and leather materials that work well with the contemporary classic furniture used to furnish the space.
Floor-to-ceiling windows that wrap around the façade provide breath-taking views of the Dubai skyline from day to night.
“Bull & Bear is open for business and is a breath of fresh air in the city’s bustling financial district,” said Victor Chalfoun, general manager of Waldorf Astoria DIFC in a statement.
“Coupled with unforgettable service and vibrant interiors, it is our aim for Bull & Bear to become a destination of choice for travellers and Dubai residents alike.”
The hotel restaurant takes its design inspiration from the original high-end eatery that was once located at Waldorf Astoria New York and frequented by Wall Street executives.
Now the space has found new life in Dubai’s financial district, which continues to grow as the emirate focuses on building a knowledge-based economy.
