UAE interior design and architecture studio Interspace will launch its first custom-made furniture collection at Downtown Design in November.

The three-piece Eden Collection is made with natural materials and includes a bar credenza, lounge sofa and a nest of coffee tables inspired by natural lines, shapes and colours.

Led by co-founder Melani Sabhaney – who designed the Emirates First Class lounge, DoubleTree by Hilton in Ras Al Khaimah and Flora Creek – Interspace’s furniture range will be made in the UAE for hospitality and residential projects.

Locally-sourced materials and craftsmanship will be used to manufacture the furniture in Ajman, one of seven emirates in the UAE.

“The beauty of the Eden collection lies in its flexibility and the fact that is produced for designers by designers,” Sabhaney said in a statement.

“When working with our clients, especially on residential and hospitality projects, we see there is a constant need for furniture, which can fit a particular space and a certain style. Invariably, such pieces are not available at the time and cost that we need. Eden collection is an extension of that need, as we wanted to create a collection that is very design-specific but also cost-efficient and with shorter delivery times.”

India-born Sabhaney added that the new collection explores new forms and materials and represents a true collaboration between art and design,
