Designers Ceebo Shah and Khalid Sharan share their most recent interior design project – a seafood restaurant, The Catch at the Fairmont Dubai.
Inspired by the Catch NYC, a flagship venue in a trendsetting area known as Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, the Dubai branch features concrete, brick and copper walls, large bronze pillars, industrial fans and black and white geometric flooring.
“The Meatpacking District is one of the oldest industrial areas that’s been a home to a lot of popular restaurants. Our challenge was to convert this modern and glam looking touch that Fairmont has into this old warehouse feel and look. Once you walk in, you are literally transported out of Dubai to an old rundown factory. We created a two-meter industrial fan that rotates, so guests can have a glimpse of the kitchen, too,” says Sharan.
The main dining room has tufted leather chocolate brown booths, with colours like orange, yellow and turquoise details throughout the space. Other interior elements include a reflective corridor and large faceted mirrors.
