Images revealed for OMA’s Qatar Foundation HQ in Doha
Exact details of OMA’s design for the new headquarters for the Qatar Foundation in Doha are not yet disclosed, however New York City-based photographer Yueqi Li show has shared some images of the completed project.
The main building of the foundation is a cubic tower measuring 57 meters tall and 29,000 meters of office space.
Comprising two stacked volumes, the headquarters feature a facade of white, precast concrete with a grid of square windows and openings that reveal glass and aluminum interiors.
There are three main parts of the structure – the executive tower, staff tower, and Her Highness’s Wing, named after the foundation’s co-founder Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser.
A central atrium provides access to each section, while glass bridges and internal balconies connect them. A roof designed like the facade allow natural light into the interiors.
Between the two volumes is a large outdoor terrace that is column-free, so the upper volume appears to hover above it.
