Antonio Pio Saracino creates “pyramid matrix” inside Marka office in d3
Italian designer Antonio Pio Saracino has completed the new corporate headquarters for UAE retail and hospitality operators, Marko in Dubai Design District.
The 20,000 square foot office includes meeting rooms, conference rooms, a showroom and staff areas.
Saracino created a bold “volumetric core” placed near the entrance of the space. The core is sculpted in a three-dimensional, multi-faceted “diamond-shaped matrix” that increases in size from the entrance.
“The varying pyramids, generated with parametric software, creates a visual interplay, elongating the corridors,” a release states.
Around the perimeter of the sculptural core are distributions of rooms for various work and social activities.
“The pyramid matrix changes colour from white to brass, creating a multi-faceted pattern inspired by Marka’s portfolio of brands.”
In the reception area sits a sculpted desk and wall display created in the same triangular geometry, while in the conference room, the same shapes function as an acoustical wooden ceiling structure.
The materials used throughout the project include wood, brass, marble and glass.
