Havelock One’s Saudi success and why the firm supports the CID Awards 2024

Meet the Sponsor: Havelock One joins the CID Awards 2024: Saudi

As a leading fit-out company across the GCC with a growing presence in Saudi Arabia, Havelock One is committed to celebrating the region’s design community and celebrating local talent. The firm has more than 25 years of experience in delivering top-quality turnkey fit-out solutions across the GCC and has marked exceptional growth in the Saudi Arabian market. Once again, the firm has signed on to support the CID Awards 2024: Saudi.

“It’s really important for us to sponsor the CID Awards as it shows our commitment to supporting the local talent and boosting the quality of interior design in the region,” says Nigel Wilson, Division Director – Fit Out Saudi Arabia at Havelock One.

“We’ve been rapidly increasing our presence in KSA because of the volume of work we are winning. We now have over 180 staff and more than 350 skilled workers based in the Kingdom across our Riyadh and Jeddah offices,” he says. “The CID Awards Saudi gives us a chance to showcase our recent projects and celebrate our achievements.”

It’s also a chance to connect and celebrate with the rest of the industry, Wilson notes. “The CID Awards provide a valuable platform for networking and collaboration, bringing together industry professionals, thought leaders, and decision-makers,” he says. I’m looking forward to connecting with peers, exchanging ideas, and forging new partnerships that will drive innovation and excellence in our field.”

Havelock One Highlights

“We have seen a lot of success in the luxury hospitality sector in KSA, over the past 12 months we have delivered the custom manufacturing and joinery installation for The St. Regis Riyadh, a full hotel refurbishment for The Oberoi Madina which boasts incredible views of The Prophet’s Mosque, refurbished the stunning lobby for Four Seasons Riyadh, and created a mock-up villa for Aman Al Hegra, AlUla,” Wilson says, reflecting on the firm’s busy year,

“In all sectors, we’ve seen a lot of traction, in the retail market we have delivered projects for many high-end luxury brands including Roberto Coin, Bvlgari and BMW. In the entertainment sector, we completed our $25million contract with Empire Cinemas, delivering three cineplexes for the Lebanese brand in Al Ahsa, Rabwa and Madina. In addition, we’ve worked across private residences, commercial offices, health and wellness and more.”

The bolstered portfolio of impressive projects comes as the firm recently expanded its manufacturing capabilities, with its second factory in Bahrain now operational. “This means our manufacturing facilities now span over 520,000 sq. ft,” Wilson says.

Industry Challenges

“Sustainability and climate change remain a hot topic, and designers and architects are under pressure to create buildings and spaces that are environmentally sustainable and resilient to changing conditions,” Wilson says of the key challenges ahead for the industry. “This involves integrating green building practices, renewable energy sources, and efficient resource usage into their designs.”

Navigating change in such a fast-paced world is another inevitable obstacle. “With the rapid advancements in technology, such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and 3D printing, designers and architects need to stay updated with these technologies to remain competitive and meet the evolving demands of clients,” Wilson says.

Looking ahead

There is growth on the horizon, according to Wilson. “Specifically focusing on the Saudi market, we anticipate its continued rapid growth trajectory,” he says. “With ambitious development projects and investments driving economic activity in the Kingdom, we’re well-prepared and equipped to support this growth. Our commitment to innovation, reliability, and customer satisfaction positions us as a trusted partner for clients undertaking projects across the Kingdom.”

Saudi Arabia is undoubtedly one of the most exciting and awe-inspiring design landscapes in the world today. “What’s most thrilling about the current design and architectural scene in Saudi Arabia is the epic scale of mega projects underway,” Wilson says.

“These gigaprojects are pushing the boundaries of innovation and sustainability, showcasing the Kingdom’s commitment to both modernisation and environmental responsibility. Being part of this dynamic landscape means being at the forefront of ground-breaking design and engineering, creating iconic landmarks that will shape the future of the region for generations to come.”
