Dubai-based architects have welcomed news of the emirate's d3 Architecture Festival 2020 in partnership with RIBA Gulf Chapter.
The three-day event is to run from November 11th-13th November alongside Dubai Design Week and aims to showcase local and international architectural talent.
Among those taking part are ANARCHITECT and Binchy and Binchy Architecture, which both have offices in Dubai.
Jonathan Ashmore is founder and principal architect at ANARCHITECT, one of the first internationally RIBA-chartered practices in Dubai.
He says: "We believe the d3 Architecture Festival 2020 in partnership with RIBA Gulf Chapter will be an important showcase of the region's recent contemporary architecture.
"Work will be presented side-by-side created by both regional and locally based international practices and emerging designers from the UAE’s top architectural schools for the public to see and enjoy."
The firm plans on displaying project Al Faya Desert Retreat, which featured in the August issue of CID magazine.
"ANARCHITECT fully supports RIBA Gulf Chapter’s mission to champion for better architecture within the region and we feel considered initiative like this from d3 show heightened interest in regional, relevant and contextual architecture," he adds.
"We hope our project Al Faya Desert Retreat on display offers reflection on moving toward repurposing and authentic destination experiences within a contemporary design language as a more sustainable approach and I am personally excited to see a collective body of work created by our talented colleagues and peers in one place.
"We trust the festival will also demonstrate the strength and innovation of the region's architecture scene and give encouragement for the whole industry to move forward with confidence and a new perspective in these unprecedented times."
Also taking part is Dubai-based architecture and interior design office Binchy and Binchy

"I am looking forward to seeing the whole community come together, from well-established firms to emerging talents and local schools of architecture, in addition to local companies founded by RIBA Members such as AMA and ANARCHITECT.
