Robert Silva has been appointed CEO of high-end Italian lighting company Flos, whose products are part of permanent collections at some of the world’s top art and design museums.
Flos is one of four companies that makes up European furniture and lighting group Design Holding, which also owns B&B Italia, Louis Poulsen, and Arclinea.
In her new role, Silva has been tasked with leading the Italian firm into a new phase of growth, a moved that will help Flos meet the “challenges of an increasingly global marketplace”, the company said in a statement
Prior to joining Flos, Silva headed up Bose’s global direct retail network, prior to a stint as Italy country manager for the US electronics manufacturer. She held a handful of senior roles at Kraft Group before this.
Design Holding has spoken highly of Silva’s commercial track record, having led Bose into a new phase of both commercial development and brand enhancement. These are areas that Silva will be required to look at, with Design Holding keen to see individual company growth for its four design-focused firms.
Silva was selected to lead Flos by the design group’s shareholders and the entrepreneur who sold Flos to Design Holding – Piero Gandini.
The move is part of wider efforts to strengthen the management structure at Design Holding, as the group, founded in 2018, looks to leverage its European heritage to support global revenue growth.
