Paul Bishop, Interior Designer of the Year and founder of Bishop Design and Rogue, and Pallavi Dean, whose firm, roar, picked up the awards in two categories: F&B and Concept of the Year, talk about what winning at the CID Awards means to them. They share their views on the rapid evolution of the industry with the bar being raised consistently. The creative powerhouses reflect on their growth, challenges and new initiatives.
Bishop says: "You're only as good as your last work." He goes on to say that CID Awards are important to the industry as it recognises the hard work designers put in over a period of 12 months. "Everyone lets go, it's a fun night, everyone has fun," he says. Both Bishop and Dean reckon that despite the competition, the industry comes together as one to celebrate at the CID Awards.
Dean talks about growing up in the UAE, and how the country has come a logn way from being an importer of talent to becoming a breeding ground for talent.
