In Pictures: Dubai's Pai Thai restaurant unveils new look
Original Thai fabrics and a fresh colour palette feature in the fit-out
Nestled among the waterways of Madinat Jumeirah, Pai Thai serves up authentic Thai cuisine with picturesque views of the luxurious Jumeirah Al Qasr hotel.
Now welcoming diners again after a make-over of its kitchen and dining area, Pai Thai also boasts a new bar lounge, which blends the outdoors with indoors.
Wilson Associates’ Maria Anna Economides – one of the seven shortlisted Young Interior Designers of the Year at the CID Awards 2019 – worked on the restaurant's revamp.
The interior narrative is inspired by the Thai residence of Jim Thompson - the American businessman credited with helping to revitalise the Thai silk industry - while the exotic interior landscape design evokes the lush jungles of Thailand.
Original Thai fabrics from the Jim Thompson collection are used throughout the restaurant.
Other highlights of the re-fit include coral hues and accent materials, plus ceilings in the family dining area made from original Thai rattan, while the private dining area has been designed using a darker palette to set the mood for intimacy for larger groups
Returning visitors will also see that new life has been breathed into the existing core furniture with a fresh colour palette.
