Commercial Interior Design (CID) is delighted to announce a partnership with the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) for the CID Awards 2011.

This year, the company will sponsor a category to champion the usage of its products in the Middle East in the award for ‘Outstanding usage of American hardwoods in a project’.

The move is part of AHEC’s commitment to educate industry specialists and to increase awareness of potential buyers. CID is  confident it will receive numerous nominations for this category from across the region.

“The CID Awards is an important event for the region’s architectural and design firms and the introduction of this category will allow us to throw the spotlight on American hardwoods in the Middle East,” said Roderick Wiles, director, AHEC Africa, Middle East, India and Oceania.

“With the increasing number of projects in the region, we are eager to raise awareness about American hardwoods within the specifying community and we are looking forward to seeing the range of projects entered into for this award.”

The Commercial Interior Design Awards will pay tribute to the projects, interior design firms and designers making their mark on the region’s interior design industry. As befitting an industry no longer in its infancy, the awards will herald work that displays original thinking, creative breadth and a willingness to stray from tried and tested formulas.

The event will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011, at the Madinat Jumeirah.

To date, American hardwoods has been involved in a number of projects in the region including the Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Emirates Towers, Grand Hyatt Dubai, Bar Al Jissa Muscat, Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, and the Burj Khalifa.
