European hospitality design shpw Sleep & Eat is going online for the first time.
That means design professionals worldwide can get involved in the three-day show, which takes place from November 17-19.
Another first for 2020 is a collaboration between hotel brands and architecture and design firms to create sets of guestrooms in the year 2035
Accor is partnering with Perkins and Will, and IHG and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts are working with AD Associates and Chalk Architecture respectively.
Students from Glion Institute of Higher Education and Hotelschool The Hague are to team up with ReardonSmith Architects to create a guestroom for a hotel group yet to be launched.
Also to be revealed at the show is a lounge bar with emphasis on physical distancing, by residential and hotel design firm, Atellior.
For the first time, this year’s Sleep & Eat sets will be created virtually using cutting edge augmented reality technology. Simulated digital walk-throughs will allow visitors to walk through all of the spaces and explore them in detail.
The 15th edition of the annual get-together will still include a conference entitled 'Re-defining Freedom' and options for one-to-one meetings, through an online platform.
Sister interior show Decorex is going run alongside, so there's something for every aspect of the industry to enjoy.
“For the hospitality sector to bounce back as quickly as possible, there is a real need for us to come together and discuss our future,” says Sleep & Event sirector, Mark Gordon.
“In Sleep & Eat Virtual we are creating an event which will enable the global industry to continue to gain inspiration, source new products, expand their knowledge and network with contacts old and new.”
