Boutique and lifestyle brand Hotel Indigo has announced its first property in the Middle East will now open in late 2020.
InterContinental Hotels Group’s flagship property is in Dubai's Business Bay, where it was due to launch over the summer.
Its interiors are heavily influenced by UAE culture and the Alserkal Cultural Foundation, Tashkeel and XVA Gallery have helped supply the hotel with 200 pieces of art and local design.
Godwin Austen Johnson (GAJ) led site supervision on the project, where each of the 269 rooms takes inspiration from the story of Dubai Creek, through Surrealist wallpaper exclusively created by local artists, bespoke shisha lamps or the wardrobes with carved wooden doors, hand-crafted in a Mashrabiya style.
In-house restaurant Open Sesame has a menu of Levant flavours and there's a Pop Art blends bar that's inspired by the bakalas of vibrant Dubai neighbourhood Satwa.
We look forward to checking in and checking it out!
