Preciosa Lighting elevates the heritage of Bohemian crystal through contemporary lighting designs. The company is built on centuries of tradition and the unique art of master glass makers.
A factory in the Czech Republic's 'Crystal Valley' that has been making Bohemian crystal since 1724 and the brand has expanded to open offices throughout the Middle East.
Its lighting styles range from individual luxury lighting to dynamic and interactive installations that are found in resorts, restaurants, luxury residences, cultural institutions and hotels.
Busy in the latter sector, Preciosa recently completed lighting projects for The Address Fountain Views in Dubai and is working on new properties The Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Hilton Palm Jumeirah and Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah.
Also new to the firm for 2020 is the nature-inspired Fractal family, created by Austrian designer Thomas Feichtner.
Pictured above is its striking shell-inspired installation at Plato’s, Atlantis The Palm in Dubai.
Designed by Petr Korinek, in collaboration with HBA Dubai, the chandelier is comprised of approximately 35,000 cut beads in three shades of blue. To create the illusion of being underwater, about 4,500 almond trimmings on 180 hanging points float around the shell.
"Such a design is much more complicated for production than the typical chandelier we are asked to design," says Korinek. "We are really lucky to have so many skilled workers here in Preciosa – not every company would be able to create and build such a 3D shaped shell fixture."
