Eid Al Adha holiday dates for public sector workers have been announced.

The announcement was made on Twitter by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.

The break begins on Thursday, July 30th and ends on Sunday, August 2nd, with employees returning to work on Monday, August 3rd.

The Eid Al Adha holiday marks the Festival of Sacrifice. Traditions to celebrate the day include sharing food and giving money to children, but, because of COVID-19, authorities have advised against these.

Though mosques in the UAE have reopened for daily prayers, it is not yet known whether people will be encouraged to make their Eid prayers at home.

Private sector workers will also enjoy a four-day break, it was confirmed on Thursday.
